Water Quality World Water Monitoring Day The monitoring tests are safe, easy and may be performed anytime from September 18 through October 18. They include dissolved oxygen (DO), acidity (pH), turbidity (or clarity) and temperature. Macro invertebrate (“bugs”) studies may also be reported. |

Continue to assist the Town of Yoder in developing different options for a Watershed Plan to address a Watershed issue within this area. NRCS has been monitoring wells during the past few years to gather trend data. All agencies and interested parties met to go over alternatives |

Co-hosted a Countywide Public meeting to review data that was obtained from Quentin Skinner and Chris Ellison from the UW on the reclassification of streams within SGCD. The group agreed the data collected should be set to DEQ to get the reclassification process moving.
South Goshen Conservation worked with NRCS and the Horse Creek Irrigation District in developing designs for the purpose to obtain funds on a watershed project for the development of new irrigation structures. NRCS & SGCD are continuing to provide technical support for this project.
SGCD assists the Goshen County Commissioners and Goshen County Planning Commission on sub-division reviews.
SGCD supports WACD in their decisions on water quality issues by visiting with local legislators, submitting comments on litigation issues within the state that affect all conservation district landowners. |
