Conservation Trees

NPVCD had another successful year with their tree program. There were 10 landowners within NPVCD that were assisted this past year with cost share funds that NPVCD budgeted from their State WDA Appropriations for their farmstead/livestock windbreaks.

 

Co-sponsored a windbreak workshop for landowners who were planting windbreaks this season dealing with their responsibilities and care of windbreak after planting, planting dates and how cost-share

NPVCD and the other 2 conservation districts hosted a countywide meeting to discuss tree programs issues, new equipment shop and equipments repairs as well as added services to our tree program in the month of August.

 

Our botanical park caretaker, LeRoy Lamb, continues to maintain our educational park in South Torrington.

Provided the Grassroot Garden Club with trees for Arbor Day handouts to each 5th grader in Goshen County.

 

Worked with the local Rooster Booster group and installed 6 wildlife plantings with funds they provide to the landowner for that purpose.
